CALCULATION

AREAL3d provides a simple calculation of basic building and outdoor area parameters.

This function does not provide a total calculation, but it gives the user a very fast report about some parameters anytime during the design process.
Please be aware of the character of the generated data: the user gets an estimated information with aproximate values from very simple models with

- gfa (all floors / simple sum of floor areas)
- facade (in this version with coplanar facades of separate buildings both are calculated)
- roof
- volume

Calculation can be started anytime and
the results are collected in a simple report sheet (with a named project you get a separate and named report, reports of an unsaved project will be overwritten).

You can c&p to excel etc. for further usage.


DELETE RESULTS

results = displayed texts  (but not the building name) will be erased

- from pullwown-menu  (all buildings)
- when you modify your building (modified building)

automatic recalculation is off per default (time saving with more buildings in the project)

DELETE BUILDINGS' NAMES

You can delete all buildings's names (including user named building) from the pulldown menu (so names are really safe, until you really want to delete them)


NAMING CONVENTIONS

There are following naming conventions

- New buildings have a standard name (prefix from user's default, numbered by the programm)

- New buildings are then numbered automatically, when the calculation is finished.
  The program always checkes all buildings' names,
  so if there is a name assigned to more buildings, it becomes an appendix (1, 2 ...)

- If a building has a name given by the user, it will remain unchanged

- If the user renames a building, it's number (if it had already one) will be used
  for another building next time, the calculation is started. This means,
  that building's number can change during the design process, unless it is defined by the user.

- Every calculation generates a list of uniq names


Use the report sheet to retrieve the data for further usage.


REPORT SHEET

The report sheet will show you following informations:

- total gfa in the project
- total volume in the project

- informations about defined sites

- a list of buildings with the building data
        -  name of the building
        -  gfa
        -  several building heights

- overview about all used materials, separated in 3 categories

   - AREAL3D Materials - calculated by the prizes from user's default setting
   - unasigned areas -  calculated by the prizes from user's default setting
   - other materials - calculated by a general default setting (user default in next version)

- overview about the AREAL3D-elements in the project

   - trees  - calculated by the prises from user's default setting (AREAL3D- menue)
   - lights - calculated by the prises from user's default setting (AREAL3D- menue)
   - other elements (description will be updated)


COSTS:

Many parameters have user defined prizes (pulldown-menue).
In version 0.9 the calculation of technical equipment is not activated, so for the preliminary design calculation it is recomended to set an average prize for the used area unit to cover all necessary costs of the building.



The report of an unsaved project is temporary and will always be overwritten !

Report from a named project have the corresponding name (txt-file) and will be overwritten anytime from this project only.
