There is a set of materials available in AREAL3D, prepared for direct asignment.
We use unique names (default-prefix 'zf' ) to avoid conflicts with other standard materials.
User can switch between 'coloured' and 'greyscale' design in the toolbar.
The idea behind this concept is to provide a not-changing material name with variable design within sketchup (we only redefine the materials' parameters).
Once asigned in skp and transfered to a vis-program the material in the visualisation remains unchanged (when controlled by the material name), even if you change the material-parameters in sketchup (like for lumion).
You can change any AREAL3D-material to define your own standard colour design in the standard sketchup material editor.
Your changes will be saved into the default file with the next use of AREAL-selector after you have edited a material.
Both colour-scales can still be restored from the AREAL-pulldown menu (back to AREAL3D-standard).
INFO: The mesh you are painting on must not be nested in any group or component !
- use any material brush and paint faces / meshes / surface
(here even in smooth surfaces only the active face is painted and you get a preview
of connected faces)
- select any face / surface and assign a material (toolbar / context menue)

AREAL3D-materials have a built-in priority, especially for painting with "mouse-move", where streets and walkways have highest prority, followed by the building-material and so on.
You can override this by clicking the desired face directly!
Some materials can also be selected directly by pressing CRTL, SHIFT, ALT, ALT-SHIFT with the left mouse.
You can use a special AREAL3D - material palette (floating at pre-defined height above the clicked element) from the context menu and place it anywhere in the model. Then simply pick a material from this palette and use it. Close the palette by clicking on the cross-symbol.
