BUILDINGTOOL - THE MODIFIER

Select the modifier from the toolbar.

There are many ways to manipulate the height (floors) of the building:

  >> create a building via left-click at any face/surface (defined amount of floors)

  >> double-click anywhere to change the direction of the modifier
  >> SHIFT also changes the direction for some functions

  >> click on a building to add or remove 1 floor
  >> click + CTRL to add 5 top-floors
  >> click + ALT to add 10 top-floors

  >> click & move for grow & shrink

and for bridges

  >> click + ALT+CTRL : move up
  >> click + ALT+CTRL+SHIFT : move down

You can create a bridge either in the desired height or by moving a building up, after it was created at the base height.

Restore the mesh with the mesh-restore-tool, if you moved up the building.
(The basis of the building is saved on a hidden layer, when the building was created. It is not packed into a group and always have a connection to its parent mesh. Removing a building and restoring the mesh moves this hiden surface back to the mesh layer. The hidden surface has a special material,
which is recognized by some AREAL3D tools, especially the mesh editor).

Enter a new height (floors) for the next building to be created in the VCB.
Enter a new height (floors) for the selected building (mouse over).

You can follow the process on several positions:

- info-message in the bottom-line (status)
- the VCB (label and value)
- the help-console, if active (user setting), shows you informations in realtime

There are many useful functions in the context-menu:
