Ray-Height
« on: September 05, 2016, 03:22:35 PM »
Fence constructions have to check the terrain height while they are created.
They can then follow the terrain.

But:
Since AREAL3D has no explicite declaration for the terrain surface, for the construction always the highest intersection will be recognized as terrain.

For this purpose, there is a hidden controller for the ray height included.

Situation 1:  terrain too high, fence shall follow the terrain and does not reach the top

>> Here you will have to adjust the ray heigher to get above the highest point of the terrain

Situation 2:  fence shall be made under some constructions

>> here you will adjust the ray height just under the level of your other construction. then the fence will take the mesh under it for terrain, not the other construction

How to adjust the ray-height:

In the VCB enter

# for info about the active ray-height

and

# followed by the value to change the value itself (will be diplayed left to the VCB after confirmation [enter])

Next VCB - input again controlls the grid for posts, so if , for example , the terrain slope get unregular, you can adjust the grid to become "smoother" results.
