Manipulate imported maps
« on: July 22, 2016, 04:04:12 AM »
This tool can be very usefull for adjusting of imported maps or images.

Unlike the native scale tool, where only scaling around the mid-point or from the bounding box corners is available,

this tool alows you to

- define a free point anywhere on any object for a vertical axis

- to uniform scale around this input point

- to rotate at the same time around the bertical axis at this point

It is now very easy to place any image in the model and adjust it to existing objects, if the scale or the direction (rotation) do not fit.

Especially exact scaling is possible whithout zooming in and out for the bounding box corners, just zoom in and use the keys for scaling and rotation, so

- select an object
- select the tool
- define the scaling center
- scale via keys
- rotate via keys

For better visibility, especially of coplanar transparent object, you can move the object up and down bit via end/pos1
and move it back again, after the editing was finished.

All this can happen without any zooming or leaving the tool.

It can also be usefull to draw a grid and then adapt the image / map.

Scaling factor can be entered via VCB,

scaling, rotation and v-move factors can be defined via context menu.

For me this saves a lot of time, when i have to place hand-drawn sketches (no scale) on maps.
You only need one common point and can scale.
