Converting to AREAL3D-buildings
« on: June 25, 2016, 11:05:47 AM »
Now, all cuboids described in this topic

can be transformed / converted into AREAL3D-building.

For this

- simply select all vertical faces of those cuboids (top and bottom faces, regardless of their angle, do not have to be selected) or the groups containing those cuboids)
- use SELECTOR >> convert to buildings (context >> buildings)

It may take some time to generate all buildings, especially with higher amounts of cuboids and when there are already many AREAL3D-buildings in the model.

Please be patient here, even if Sketchup seems not to be working anymore.

It can also be useful to convert in smaller amounts of cuboids step by step
and to save the model between those steps.

After the convertion is finished,
you will see
new buildings with the height of their corresponding source cuboids (the routine measures the height of the cuboids and calculates, how many times the preset floor height fitts in) created.

At the moment, the terrain does not get adapted here.

Switch to
block view or detailed view
or
colored or greyscale palette now, if you like.
