Line tool

With this simple line tool it is possible

to create a row of edges, which will be encapsulated in a group, when you finish.
This avoids any intersection with your model (and works nice for draping!).

During the input, you can cancel one or more steps (edges) by pressing CTRL. This is really a time saver, when you draw outlines on a map etc.

The edges are thought to be a basis for further constructions (like blocks)
and can also be projected to other surfaces.

They do not follow the terrain on sloped faces, since this is not necessary for the functionality (there are much more sophisticated rubies for this on the market).

Besides that you can enter a length for a new segment!
Simply enter the length in the VCB.
Now select a vector for the new segment. Red and green lines indicate the direction and length.
The new segment will be created with the desired direction and length.

Finish the line or a closed loop with double-click or escape. or re-selection of the tool.

The status bar shows you some parameters of the line:

  - amount of segments
  - total length
  - last segment's length
  - active segment's length

  - element under the cursor
  - material name of a face under cursor (useful, if the active line group contains a block)

Note 1 :

To avoid problems with unexact loops (closing line with doubleclick)
a block will be created from nearly any continuous collection of edges in the line, if a loop can virtually be calculated.
Jus draw a unclosed polygon and the block-tool will close the loop automatically, if the geometry makes it possible.

Note 2 :

The blocks can only be created from AREAL3D-line groups.
