AREAL3D - material table
« on: April 28, 2016, 02:14:25 PM »
This material table is placed at 0,0,0 by default.
It is always created from the active material table of the project.

Usage:

Some vis-programs' material assignment is based on materials' names of the source file.

In lumion, for example, the saved material sets only load materials assigned in the source file.
Next time, after reloading sketchup with more materials, a reload of the material-set-file would overwrite editied materials in lumion.

To avoid this,
create a new material table including all project materials and load your project into your vis programm with this table.

Now ALL predefined materials are loaded in Lumion from the material set, even if not assigned on other elements yet in sketchup.

If you now assign further mateials from the table in your sketchup project and reload, those materials are already assigned.
You do not have to reload your lumion material set and edited materials remain in the lumion project.

So it is also useful to create some 'dummy' materials in the beginning of the sketchup project for more flexibility.
