Simple line tool (segments do not follow the terrain)
with some special functions:
- Leftlick adds segments
- CTRL deletes last segment without stopping the tool, just continue drawing new segments
Lines are always drawn at the main drawing level in a new group, even if you work within a group.
The new group can then be projected (drape) to any mesh.
A sketchup drape issue: Draping with the sketchup native tool sometimes leave gaps,
if
- the line segment (result of the drape near to a vertex) is very short
or
- the source edge overlays a hidden edge of the target
You either use
- a small helper to show the gaps >>
- another helper to repair the 'edge' problem up to a certain extend >>
or other external tool for draping or edge correction (edge tools)
